A few weeks ago, Scott's sister Courtney gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Shaw. He weighed 5 pounds 11 ounces and was a whopping 22 inches long!

Welcome little Shaw! |
This is our first time being an aunt and uncle and we're so excited! But being so far away is really hard. While other family members are flying in to Chicago to meet Shaw, we won't get to meet him in person until he's about six months old. I realize there are events like this that we'll miss, but it's difficult not to feel a bit out of the loop, particularly when it's such a big, joyous occasion. At least we got to see these great photos, courtesy of Scott's dad.

And thank goodness for Skype. We were able to see him and talk with the proud, new parents, who looked happy but tired.

I couldn't resist waiting to buy some baby clothing, of course, so I found an adorable little Chinese PJ set in a traditional fashion. I just hope it fits Shaw when we get to meet him. The abundance of children's clothing here at the various markets is going to be great for dressing this kid up. I plan to spoil the heck out of him with gifts from here (cue Scott to roll his eyes).

Don't worry, I didn't get him this outfit, but come on, that's pretty darn cute. |
The best part is we've got Courtney already calling us shu-shu and ayi -- Mandarin for uncle and aunt!

Cutest baby ever. |
